Dubai to Baku at a glance
How much are flights from Dubai to Baku?
There is no “normal” price for this route — a nonstop Dubai–Baku fare changes constantly with travel dates, how far ahead you book, and seasonal demand. As an illustrative example, flydubai’s own site listed one-way fares from about AED 1,345 when we checked (August 2026), but that is a snapshot, not a rule. For the live fare on your dates, use the trip calculator, which also surfaces the cheapest nearby dates.
Are there direct flights from Dubai to Baku?
Yes. Two carriers fly the route nonstop: flydubai and Azerbaijan Airlines. The nonstop hop is about 2 hours 55 minutes over roughly 1,761 km, operated around 16 times a week (about two departures a day). It is one of the shorter international trips from the UAE, which is a big part of why Baku is popular with Gulf travellers.
DXB vs SHJ (and Abu Dhabi) for Baku
Dubai is not your only UAE gateway to Baku. If you are flexible on airport, it is worth comparing:
Fares are not fixed — compare each gateway for your dates in the calculator.
When is it cheaper to fly from Dubai to Baku?
The most reliable rule is demand, not a magic weekday. Baku’s peak is the warm summer season, so spring (April–June) and autumn (September–October) usually mean lower fares and hotel rates with pleasant weather. Booking a few weeks ahead and staying flexible by a day or two helps too. Rather than guessing, open the calculator and check the cheapest dates it finds for your route.
How much does a 3, 5 or 7-day Baku trip cost?
Your total is mostly four parts: flights, stay, food/local transport, and activities. The table below is a planning estimate per person (not a live quote) to set expectations; the calculator turns it into a real number with live flight and hotel prices:

Baku Airport → city centre
Heydar Aliyev International Airport (GYD) is about 20–25 km from the centre (25–40 minutes). Your options:
- H1 Aero Express bus — runs 24/7 to the 28 May / Koroğlu metro stations for 1.30 AZN, paid with a reusable BakıKart (about 2 AZN, bought at the airport machine).
- Taxi (Bolt / Yango apps) — typically 15–25 AZN depending on demand; official airport taxis agree the fare at the desk.
- Private transfer — from around 50 AZN per vehicle with a meet-and-greet.
Food, local transport and activities
Baku is reasonable value versus Western Europe. Metro and buses run on the same BakıKart; casual meals are inexpensive while Old City restaurants cost more. These are covered inside the calculator’s trip-budget estimate rather than fixed here, because they vary with your style of travel.
What currency is used in Baku?
The Azerbaijani manat (AZN). Cards are widely accepted in the city, but keep some cash for buses, taxis and smaller shops.
Is Baku worth visiting from Dubai?
For a short break, it is hard to beat: under three hours nonstop, an easy ASAN e-visa for many nationalities, a walkable old town beside modern architecture, and prices below Western Europe. If you want the full destination picture, see our Baku travel-cost guide.
