Quick answer: The Wijhatik Travel Cost Index is an estimate built from observed flight-price averages, hotel-price averages and daily living-cost data, in Saudi riyal. We refresh it seasonally and date every version. Figures are for planning, not booking.
Data sources
- Flights: observed price averages via booking partners (Aviasales/Travelpayouts) for popular routes, round-trip economy.
- Hotels: nightly price averages from hotel price bases (Hotellook), 3–4 star in tourist areas.
- Daily expenses: food, transport and activities estimated from typical local price levels.
How we build the number
Three levels: Economy, Mid and Comfort. Each has a per-person daily spend split 45% stay · 25% food · 15% transport · 15% activities, plus round-trip flights per person. The reference trip is 5 days for two, unless stated.
Currency & updates
All figures in Saudi riyal (SAR), with a USD approximation at ~3.75. We review seasonally and when prices move noticeably, and date every page.
